Mindfulness Meditation

Research over the years has demonstrated that meditation can lower blood pressure, and increase oxygen levels, alertness and the ability to focus…

This Meditation is the art of inner listening. Jon Kabat-Zinn has said and written, “Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non judgmentally. This kind of attention nurtures greater awareness, clarity, and acceptance of present-moment reality.”

It is about being fully present in the moment. Just simply observing, non-judging. It is also about using your breath to centre yourself.

All we have is this present moment: for the past has gone and the future is not here yet.

Meditation elicits the ‘relaxation response’ (Herb Benson, 1976) and has also shown through clinical studies to reduce pain levels and increase ones capacity to cope better with their pain and with stressors of life.
