EMMALENE KATAYAMA
Emmalene has been working therapeutically with clients in her private holistic practice in Brighouse since 2000 and in Ilkley for the last 10 years.
She shapeshifts according to each client: working with people with a diverse range of psychological and/or physical issues of all ages, including children and teenagers, those who are seeking to maintain balance and their holistic health, support at troubling times and/or times of big transition in their lives, and those seeking deep spiritual transformation. She often works with multi-generational members of a family, and friendship groups.
In 2007, she founded the Yorkshire School of Natural Healing, now called Yorkshire Natural Healing, and created courses and taught complementary therapies for 12 years, primarily Aromatherapy and Massage as the Principal of an IFPA-accredited school, as well as chakra development and Indian head massage workshops, alongside holding seasonal retreats.
With warm generosity and an innate love for life, she creates safe sacred spaces and intuitively draws from her eclectic knowledge to offer opportunities for self-exploration and transformation.
As well as holding women’s retreats for 2 decades, now called Sacred Pause women’s retreats, rooted in the Divine Feminine, she invites, hosts and collaborates with international conscious movement and dance teachers (5R dance and Open Floor), and experienced yoga teachers, and always enjoys co-creating close connection and building community as well as participating and deepening her own practice. She has been dancing 5Rhythms and Open Floor for two decades, and she is trained in embodied conscious movement.
For much of her life, she has whole-heartedly immersed herself in the study of spirituality, ancient wisdom, advanced healing techniques, ritual and ceremony, space-holding, meditation, non-duality, Tantra, neuroscience, the nature of consciousness, ancestral and collective trauma healing, environmentalism, earth-healing and Sanskrit chanting.
