EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) |
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is regarded as the most successful health innovation in the last 100 years. It is a new treatment tool for anxieties, fears, trauma, procrastination, addictions, weight loss and much more: a gentle highly effective way to transform any issues blocking emotional happiness or personal achievement. EFT is one of the new Power Therapies, also known as ‘Energy Psychology’ which are developed from the ancient Chinese meridian energy system — it is a form of emotional acupuncture without the needles, and is based on the premise that all negative emotions are the result of a disruption in the body’s energy system. EFT works by clearing the disruption or blockage by tapping on the end points of the body’s energy meridians, while tuning the mind to the issue, and thus rebalancing the body’s energy system. EFT is safe, easy to apply, and non-invasive. Developed by Gary Craig, in the USA, EFT is the leading technique of the new treatments referred to as Energy Psychology. The success of these treatments with a wide range of emotional and physical issues are creating breakthrough understandings about the nature of healing and personal change. It applies to just about every emotional and physical issue you can name and often works where nothing else will.

Feldenkrais |
The Feldenkrais Method® is a way of learning about movement, posture and breathing in order to develop our full human potential. When and where did it originate? The method is named after its originator, Moshe Feldenkrais, a Ukranian-born scientist and engineer, as well as respected Judo instructor, who developed his approach whilst working in Europe. Feldenkrais discovered that throughout our lives we take on patterns, both physical and psychological, which become deeply embedded in our nervous systems, however these habits often lose their effectiveness and do not serve us well. Through the Feldenkrais Method® we have a unique opportunity to free ourselves of these habits and explore new ways to think, feel, act and move. • Relief from tension and muscular pain • Easier and fuller breathing • Greater relaxation and well-being • Improved performance in sport, dance, music and drama • Greater ease in everyday activities |

The Alexander Technique helps millions of people across the world to naturally overcome: - muscle tension and stiffness
- back, neck and joint pain
- poor posture
- breathing and vocal problems
- anxiety and stress-related conditions
… or simply to change conditions that stop them enjoying a happy, healthy life. The Technique works by helping you to identify and prevent the harmful postural habits that may be the cause of stress and pain. You will learn to release tension and rediscover balance of mind and body. With an increased awareness you can: - be poised, without stiffness
- move gracefully, with less effort
- be alert and focussed, with less strain
- breathe and speak more easily
- be calm and confident
Learning to use yourself better with poised natural body alignment will help improve overall functioning and wellbeing. The technique is a powerful tool for personal development, self-awareness and learning new skills. It can add a new dimension of creativity to your life and lead to on-going self-discovery. You can improve how you move, perform, look and feel. Your teacher will use gentle hands-on guidance and verbal explanations to help you find ease and balance within yourself in simple movements and everyday activities – such as sitting, standing, walking or bending. Through experience and observation you gain increased awareness enabling you to change long-standing habits and to function more efficiently. In time, you will be able to use your new understanding and skill in more complex and demanding activities. You can bring awareness and poise to anything you do. Part of the lesson may include you lying down in the classic Alexander Technique semi-supine position – allowing maximum support and relief for the back. Maria Swider MSTAT |

Reflexology |
What is reflexology? Reflexology is a safe and natural therapy where pressure point massage is applied to the feet (or sometimes the hands). It restores the flow of energy throughout the body encouraging a return to its natural state of balance. Reflexology is a very relaxing therapy that stimulates the body to heal itself. It is suitable for all ages and each treatment is adapted to the needs of the individual. Clients remain fully clothed apart from the feet which need to be bare. A full treatment usually takes about 50 minutes. Reflexology can be used for general relaxation to bring a sense of wellbeing during times of stress, as well as being beneficial in treating a whole host of conditions. An individual treatment plan will be discussed at your first appointment. Penny Lowe MBSR MCThA |
