Caroline Scott is a Feldenkrais Practitioner & Movement/Dance Educator.
I have been building my Feldenkrais practice in Yorkshire since relocating from London in 2005, working with a wide variety of people including dancers, children with disabilities, people with MS, Parkinson’s disease, back pain and yoga students & teachers. The majority of people I see are simply looking to improve their comfort in day to day life.
Following my initial training in contemporary dance, I came across alternative approaches to working with movement and the body which really intrigued me and felt very satisfying; firstly the Alexander Technique and then the Feldenkrais Method. It was after a series of one to one Feldenkrais lessons, having done Awareness Through Movement (group classes) for many years that I felt compelled to do the professional training. I completed the Amsterdam International Feldenkrais Training (AIFT) in October 2002 and since then have been a member of the Feldenkrais Guild UK, the professional organisation responsible for maintaining standards of practice, and I fully subscribe to their Code of Ethics and requirement of professional insurance. I regularly attend Advanced Trainings in London to support and further develop my practice. I currently practice in Hebden Bridge and Ilkley.

I trained with the Northern College Of Therapeutic Hypnosis, qualifying with distinction in 2008. I am also currently training as an NLP Practitioner, aiming to qualify in May 2011.
Prior to training in clinical hypnotherapy I worked in health and social care settings for many years as a therapeutic social worker and manager. My interest in clinical hypnosis grew out of therapeutic work I have been doing when working in palliative care, recognising the power hypnosis has to make positive and lasting changes quickly and effectively. In my work I use a variety of of hypnotic techniques, and include the use of neuro linguistic programming (NLP). I also work as a volunteer at St. Gemma's Hospice in Leeds, developing the hypnotherapy service and providing one to one hypnotherapy for patients and carers. www.brionyfarr.com

Maria Swider I am a fully-qualified teacher of The Alexander Technique and as a member of The Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT), I am bound by their Code of Professional Conduct and hold professional indemnity insurance. I first became interested in The Alexander Technique after having read about it in a small book which I obtained from a book club. At the time I was suffering from various aches and pains which I felt were due to a combination of things, such as bad posture, hours spent bending over a computer at work, followed by lounging around in the evenings on the sofa. Several years passed before I picked up the book again but this time I decided to pursue the matter further. However, instead of just going for a course of lessons I decided that I would also like this to be a new way of life and booked on a course to become a Teacher of the Alexander Technique. I was lucky enough to be able to take up a place almost immediately at The North of England Teaching Centre for the F. M. Alexander Technique*. I attended for three years and qualified as a teacher in August 2000. Since then I have taught at various places in and around Leeds and currently teach at the Ilkley Healing Centre. Frances teaches Rainbow T'ai chi & Chi Kung fundamental exercises and practices Reflexology, using chi healing to enhance the process. Frances qualified in Reflexology in 2000 via FHT and then went on to train as a Rainbow t'ai Chi & Chi Kung instructor from 2003 to graduation in 2006. She continued intensive advanced training for her personal benefit and that of her clients and students; she enjoys a growing reputation as a powerful, gentle healer supporting her students and clients to self-heal and empower themselves. |
